It was held at the Canton Beach Tourist Park on the Central Coast. Up to 40 adults and children spent the weekend having a good time. Many of the families arrived on the Friday and stayed until Sunday. Some came on Saturday and Sunday. We enjoyed some Icelandic delicacies, such as hardfisk from Lilly, ponnukokur from Sibba and a fantastic kjotsupa from Marin. Linda and Brian started off with the Ghost telling session for the children. The children also told some spooky stories. The most terrifying story was the one Brian told. It even had some of the adults shivering in their seats. On the Saturday we had the questionnaire bush walk which Simmi and Linda organised. Everyone had to take a walk in the bush and find 15 multiple choice questions tied to various trees in the bush. All participants had an answer sheet which they could tick off the choices. The sheets were then handed over to Linda who went through them to identify the winners. On the Saturday evening the prices were handed out. We also had a raffle which Lilly had organised. With the help of many of the children, the raffle tickets were sold. Later on the Saturday evening, Lilly had Linda draw the two prizes. We also spent some time singing songs and in general having a lot of fun. On the Sunday at lunch, we came together in the big marquee which the caravan park had provided us with and celebrated the 17th of June formally. After that everyone went home, probably a bit tired, but happy. The general feedback was that this should be repeated every year. See some of the pictures below.
